今日は蒸し暑いせいか、朝から何回も停電している。今も停電中のため、マンションの発電機で動く蛍光灯と天井扇風機の下に座ってなんとなく過ごしているところだ。
Electricity has been disrupted so many times today and is disrupted now. It may be because of high humidity. I have nothing to do but sit under a tube light and a ceiling fan which is run by the generator.

午後には雨が振り、蒸し暑さがぐっと増した。おかげで今日は今年一番の湿度だと思う。多分100％かそれに限りなく近い湿度だったろうと思う。
There was a thundershower in the afternoon and humidity increased after that. I believe today’s humidity was the highest in the season, 100% or something close to 100%.
日本の天気予報とは比較にならないくらい大雑把なので、あまり当てにしないのだが
そういえば今日の新聞の天気予報でもそんなことを言っていたなと思い出し、新聞を開いてみた。 以下がその文章。

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely at a few places over Khulna, Chittagong and Sylhet division and at one or two places over Rajshahi Barisal and Dhaka divisions till 6:00 pm today. ここで言及されていないのは北西部にあるロングプール地区。うーん、ロングプールが天気予報に含まれなかったのは今日だけなのだろうか。いずれにしても、日本の天気予報とは全く違うものであった。個人的には「ほどほどの豪雨」という表現が気に入りました。
Rangpur division is not included in today’s forecast. I don’t know if it is only today or not. Anyway, weather forecast in Bangladesh is very much different from what I know in Japan. I like the phrase “moderatly heavy falls are likely at places”
